Aprox 3" long front end of a Marlin Rockwell .  Very early, italic font, SN 2711* indicates first contract run manufacture.  The Barrel has been torched off right at the threads and the flame nicked the front of the receiver. 

Blued finish and heavy pitting, barrel stub may or may not be removable.
